Thursday morning September 8,2011 was a gray, misty scene at the South End of Virginia Beach, and Katia's monsters were sneaking in out of the East.
There was no color whatsoever, except on the surfers's boards and wetsuits, so I decided to shoot the entire event in black & white to capture the mood.
